Now it’s time to move beyond all that nasty fear, obligation and guilt you’re ready to get rid of. Start by addressing the ‘weeds’ in your life which create powerlessness. The fears. The obligations. The guilt. (Oooh, that’s a lot—but don’t stop now!) Put them in order of ‘weeds’ from the smallest to largest. Don't worry about what you think should impact you the most, just what actually affects how you feel. This is called the preparation for changing what’s draining (weeds) into what’s enriching but scary (seeds), and you’ll use it to knock out your fears, obligation and guilt one by one.
Now it’s time to tackle the first ‘fear weed’ on your list. View it in perspective. Acknowledge as much as you can while having the minimum focus on your other weeds. We mean go after it! See it for what it is. Look from outside of it. Focus so much your nearest and dearest think they’re next! You want to get rid of that fear weed quickly. When you’ve released it, add those new bravery feelings to the next issue on your next fear weed and start attacking it.
It’s hard work, but this is what winning looks like! The small wins you make at the beginning will keep you motivated to dump all your fear, obligation and guilt secrets.
